| | Hello everyone! It is hard to believe that we are at the end of this school year at Pizitz! I am so proud and amazed at the level of cooperation regarding safety that our students and staff have demonstrated. It is also amazing that, in a year of extreme challenges, our sports, academic, and extracurricular teams/groups finished at the top of their levels! With summer break on the horizon, please make the most of what should be a closer to “normal†break to spend time as a family and make long-lasting vacation memories. Many of you know that I have accepted a position at the Board of Education as Director of Assessment and Accountability, but please know that I will always be a part of the Pirate Family! Go Pirates!!
Sincerely, Chris Pennington, Ed. D. Principal Louis Pizitz Middle School

| | I can’t believe this school year is drawing to a close! What an interesting year with the loss of so much that has made me grateful for events and activities I never thought to appreciate in the past. With that said, be on the lookout for information and ways you can help as we celebrate the end of the year with the 8th grade Party, Pirate's Day, and Homeroom/ 4th period parties!
I want to thank all the PTO officers, Committee Chairs, and parents who have worked tirelessly to contribute to our school with their time and resources. I also want to thank the administration and faculty/ staff who have supported all that PTO has done this year. And lastly, thank you especially to Dr. Pennington for his service to our school. We are excited for him as he takes the next step in his career at the Board level!
I have been very fortunate to serve as your PTO President this year and look forward to next year under our new President, Hollye Stigler, and her wonderful PTO board!
I hope you have a relaxing and restful summer!
Jennifer Lynch PTO President |

Keep Your Brain in Gear
When the school year ends, the learning doesn't have to. Keep your child's mind active all summer long with these ideas.
Take up a hobby Hobbies can give your child a meaningful way to spend time practicing various skills. For example, knitting requires math and attention to detail and chess promotes strategic thinking and patience.
Explore the community Visiting new places will build your child's general knowledge. While, touring a museum or taking a hike, for instance, encourage your child to ask questions or to read any signs to learn about the exhibit or wildlife.
Look Ahead to Fall Your child can get a head start on a subject they will study next year. For example, if they are taking spanish, they could download an app and begin learning greetings and other phrases.

| | PTO's annual Supply Sale is coming up! Please support Pizitz Middle School by purchasing your back-to-school supplies through our only fundraiser. We have upgraded our products with a new company. All profit from this sale goes directly to the school. The sale will start when the PTO membership drive opens this summer and will continue until supplies run out, so don't get left out! During the Supply Sale, you will have the opportunity to support Pizitz by purchasing grade-level supply packs and required English reading book packs. These supply packs contain the basic grade-specific supplies requested by your child's teachers.
A complete list of books and supplies will be posted on the PTO link of the Pizitz website during the membership drive and registration time period. This link will direct you to the Membership Toolkit site where you will update/confirm or join MTK if you haven't already. Then you will be able to join the PTO, make donations, purchase supplies, and much more.
A few things to note: - Pick up day will be Tuesday, August 3rd.
- Supply pack sales are first come, first served. Once supplies are sold out, the sale will end.
If you have any questions regarding this year's Supply sale, please contact us at PizitzSupplySale@gmail.com.

Donate through Publix Partners! Register online with Club Publix (https://www.publix.com/myaccount/register) and select Pizitz Middle School as your Publix Partner. Please make sure your account is still active and up-to-date or re-register if you need to. Confirming your account and Publix Partner school can be tricky. On a mobile device, log in via your web browser (not the Publix app), then swipe across the menu options in the middle of the screen. Select “My Publix Partner†to select or confirm your account is linked to Pizitz. When you checkout at Publix, enter your phone number into the keypad. It is that easy! Our last check from Publix was more than $400, so this partnership is meaningful to our school!
